For international students, it offers a manageable city size and a centrally located school, with convenient access to daily services, transport, part-time work and learning resources. The Japan YMCA also describes Kitakyushu as a city combining urban convenience with a natural environment suitable for international students. The school arranges cultural exchanges and extracurricular activities so students can learn about Japanese society and daily life alongside the language. Under the current program, approximately two student activities are generally scheduled each month, subject to the school calendar.
